Alright Queendom, don't lose your heads but the West End sensation Six is extending its socally distanced run at the Lyric Theatre.
The unstoppable sellout show is moving from its long term home of the Arts theatre to the larger Lyric with performances beginning on Saturday 5th December. Originally due to conclude this limited run on February 14th 2021, another 11 weeks has been added on meaning it will now play until April 18th 2021.
The show closed its doors in the West End along with every other show in March. Provided it does open on time next week (Come on Boris, give us the confirmation) it will become the first musical to resume performances in the West End since the closure.
The production at the Lyric will be "the shiniest version of Six yet" including new set elements and costume alterations that had been planned for the Broadway run. The Queens set to reprise their roles in the West End are Jarnéia Richard-Noel, Courtney Bowman, Natalie Paris, Alexia McIntosh, Sophie Isaacs, Danielle Steers, Zara Macintosh, Cherelle Jay, Hana Stewart and Collette Guitart.
The Queens were back in the rehearsal room yesterday for the first time since the show closed, ready for the shows (hopeful) opening next week. Dependent on imminent tier announcements, It is also hoped that the UK Touring cast will resume their delayed performances at the Lowry in Salford from Friday December 4, 2020 for their planned Christmas season.
Six producers Kenny Wax, Wendy and Andy Barnes and George Stiles say, "We have been thrilled and overwhelmed by the response for tickets. Audiences are obviously desperate to get back to the theatre. We hope that after several false starts we will be able to proceed in London and Salford as planned."
Tickets for the new dates are on sale now from nimaxtheatres.com
